WHAT IS IT?
The VJOP stands for Very Junipery Overproof. Imagining the botanicals as components in an orchestra, here Sipsmith has taken the lead instrument, juniper, and amplified its presence in the ensemble, and then raised the decibels by increasing the proof alcohol. In short, imagine taking a normal strength bottle of gin and making it punchier.
The gin is distilled in a copper pot still named Prudence and hand made by German crafthouse Carl. Using their very own barley vodka as the base spirit that is diluted with purified water, 10 traditional London dry gin botanicals (Macedonian juniper, Seville orange, lemon peel, coriander seeds, angelica root, liquorice root, orris root, ground almond, cassia bark and cinnamon) are steeped in the base spirit before distillation.
There's big juniper and pine with citrus notes on the nose and the juniper carries through on the palate with a long dry yet balanced finish. This is not one for the faint hearted but is a real treat for those who really love their gin!

WHO'S BEHIND IT?
As the first copper post distillery to be granted a licence in London in over 200 years, Sipsmith is arguably the first to kickstart the craft distilling movement in the UK. That was in 2008 and the distillery hasn't looked back since. The idea was first conceived by two childhood friends Sam Galsworthy (middle) and Fairfax Hall (right). Before they plunged into the world of distilling, one was working for a brewery and the other for drinks giant Diageo but both were inspired by the craft distilling movement that was kicking off in the US at the time. Drinks writer and historian Jared Brown (left) came on board as the master distiller early in the piece and remains master distiller to date, overseeing production, all of which is made by hand in small batches of a few hundred bottles at a time.
Did you know that the first location for Sipsmith's HQ at 27 Nasmyth St, Hammersmith (the distilling operations has since moved to bigger premises in 2015) was once the home of whisky expert Michael Jackson?
WHERE DO YOU SHIP TO?
We currently deliver within Australia only. If however, you wish to purchase a gift for someone living in Australia, please feel free to do so. All you have to do is nominate their delivery address in the checkout stages but please make sure you enter your billing address as being your overseas address to which your card is registered to. We suggest you include a note with the order to let us know it is a gift otherwise there may be a delay in the processing of your order whilst we verify your details for fraud purposes.
HOW LONG WILL MY DELIVERY TAKE TO ARRIVE?
Orders are normally despatched within 48 hours of cleared payment being made.
Current estimates for standard delivery times are as follows:
NSW - Between 3-5 working days
ACT/QLD/VIC - Between 3-7 working days
SA/WA/TAS - Between 5-10 working days
NT - Between 7-14 working days
The likelihood is that your order will arrive sooner than the above estimates however, this can vary from location to location and time of the year. There may also be certain periods around special occasions such as Christmas, Valentines Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day etc where you may experience some delays in your orders being received due to the volumes of parcels that are being processed and delivered by our shipping partners. If you need your order to arrive by a specific time or urgently (including same day for Sydney metro), please contact us before you place your order so we can work with you to accommodate any requests.
WHO DO YOU SHIP WITH?
We currently use the services of Fastway, Couriers Please and Australia Post. Depending on your delivery location, we will ascertain which of the delivery providers are best placed to ship your order in a timely and cost efficient way.
WHEN ARE DELIVERIES MADE? WHAT IF I'M NOT HOME?
All deliveries are made during business hours on the weekdays. We therefore ask that you nominate an address at which someone over 18 is available to sign for the parcel. We are unable to deliver to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers at this time. If a parcel has to be re-delivered or delivered to a different address, you will be fully responsible for any re-delivery charges that may be levied by the delivery provider.
CAN I RETURN OR CANCEL AN ORDER?
You can cancel an order if it hasn't been despatched. Please contact us straightaway if that is the case. We do not offer returns unless the wrong item has been shipped to you or it is delivered damaged. Please ensure you take photos of your parcel upon delivery to forward to us so that we can process any refund or send out a replacement item appropriately.
